Acne treatment solutions available by the Lupo Center for Aesthetic and General Dermatology in the New Orleans, LA areaBy Dr. Mary Lupo
For many patients, acne treatment consists of cleansing the skin and the use of over-the-counter acne products that may have ingredients; such as benzoil peroxide or salicylic acid. However, some of these are not strong enough for patients with more moderate to severe cases of acne and treatment may be effective. This is when many patients consider visiting a board certified dermatologist to discuss possible options for treatment that will provide amazing results.
Acne treatment will vary from patient to patient based on their skin type, the type of acne they are suffering from, and the way their skin reacts to treatments. Dr. Mary Lupo is a board certified dermatologist who can walk patients through the process of improving their skin's texture and tone while reducing the active acne blemishes. In fact, the first step of treating acne is addressing the active acne currently plaguing patients. Once the acne is under control, maintaining the healthy skin is next. This may include integrating proactive treatments; such as chemical peels or laser therapies, to keep the skin bacteria-free for years to come!
