What is Botox?
First, patients are urged to learn about Botox and how it works. Botox is a cosmetic form of botulinum toxin. This is a neuromodulator that is used to relax specific muscles in which it is injected. Dermal fillers are formulated with hyaluronic acid, which attracts water molecules, ensuring instant results. How does the Botox treatment for a “gummy smile” work?

To address this, our board certified dermatologists will inject Botox into the levator muscle of the lip between the upper lip and nose. The muscles relax, and patients can smile without showing so much of their gums while also improving the volume of the upper lips. This can be completed as an alternative to expensive dental work.
