Patients who love the results they achieved with Botox are encouraged to book routine appointments several months apart for reinjection to keep their appearance and, over the years, slow the signs of aging. During a patient’s Botox injection appointment, the entire process from start to finish takes just a few minutes. The facial area is cleansed, and then patients sit in the treatment chair while the doctor evaluates the specific areas that need attention. Botox is injected via a very small needle into the troubled areas, specifically into the muscles of the face that are forming the fine lines and wrinkles patients want to address. Once this is done, patients are educated on how to care for their skin for the next few days while the medication begins to work its magic on reducing the wrinkles and folds. The results are often seen after a few days, typically before one week, and will last several months.Are there any side effects to Botox injections?
After injections, patients may notice some redness and itching at injection sites. This is typical and will go away within a day or two. Patients may also experience some bruising, but this too will subside.
