Skin rejuvenation services at the Lupo Center for Aesthetic and General Dermatology in New Orleans have become incredibly popular among patients of all ages. Dr. Mary Lupo is a board certified dermatologist who wants to ensure patients have access to a myriad of services used to treat medical conditions while also enhancing the appearance of the skin. She encourages patients to ask her about procedures; such as chemical peels.
Chemical peels are used to exfoliate the skin by removing the top skin layers with a mixture of chemicals. This solution is applied and then quickly removed from the skin. This is done instead of using lasers or other mechanical methods of treatment; such as microdermabrasion. It brightens the skin while improving texture and tone, along with addressing a wide range of imperfections including:
Chemical peels may require a day or two of downtime depending on how aggressive a peel is performed. The more superficial peels may result in some minor flaking of the skin; but, this is typically minor and does not interfere with patient’s daily activities. However, the more aggressive peels are stronger and may result in peeling and flaking for several days, in addition to redness. Patients who consider these peels may want to schedule them on a Friday to reduce their downtime at work over the weekend. Patients also need to practice proper skin protection by staying out of the sun while their skin is healing from chemical peel treatments.
Chemical peels are a great way to rejuvenate the skin in a safe and effective manner without any harmful side effects. We recommend having procedures; such as this, performed by a properly trained professional. We encourage patients in the New Orleans community and surrounding areas to consider visiting the Lupo Center for Aesthetic and General Dermatology to discuss the advantages of using chemical peels to enhance the skin’s appearance and health in a fast, easy, and affordable way.
Our mission at the Lupo Center is to provide patients with innovative, effective, and ethical care to make each person look and feel their personal best. To fulfill our goal, we provide state-of-the-art medical, surgical, and cosmetic treatments to all patients.
