IPL Treatment for Acne Scars New Orleans LA area
Losing weight and achieving your desired body can be done with the help of our team here at the Lupo Center for Aesthetic and General Dermatology of New Orleans, LA. While diet and exercise are a great start to boosting confidence, metabolism, and improving one’s health and body, it might still be difficult for patients to achieve their desired body contours especially in trouble areas of the body. Dr. Mary Lupo is here to help with a solution that does not require surgery: CoolSculpting.

What is CoolSculpting?

CoolSculpting is a method of cryolipolysis. Instead of using liposuction to remove fat from specific areas of the body, many patients find that CoolSculpting can achieve similar results without being nearly as expensive or invasive. CoolSculpting essentially freezes fat cells in the targeted treatment area and allows the body to naturally flush them through the lymphatic system over the course of several weeks. This means that patients can permanently eliminate fat cells on specific areas of the body with this method.

Which body parts can be treated with CoolSculpting?

The team of Lupo Center for Aesthetic and General Dermatology find that this procedure can be performed on the
  • Legs
  • Back
  • Upper arms
  • Stomach
  • Thighs
  • Chin
  • Bra fat
  • Fat pockets above the knees
  • Saddle bags

Is CoolSculpting expensive?

Most patients find CoolSculpting treatments to be relatively affordable, especially when they work with our front office team to develop a payment plan. Dr. Mary Lupo encourages patients to book a consultation appointment at the practice to determine if they are a good fit for CoolSculpting and to decide if it is within their budget. Health insurance plans do not cover CoolSculpting procedures as this is an elective, cosmetic treatment for men and women.

What is involved in CoolSculpting?

First, patients book a consultation appointment with the team to undergo an initial evaluation, including questions about their medical history. Patients should be open and honest about any medications they are taking and the results they would like to achieve with treatment. Patients who have realistic expectations and who want to target a specific area of fat are good candidates for CoolSculpting. Patients then book their first appointment, during which the CoolSculpting device is used on the treatment area. Men and women undergoing their CoolSculpting session will relax in the treatment chair as the device administers deep freezing to the fat cells underneath the skin. Treatment sessions are relatively short and are comfortable for our patients. Afterwards, patients can return to their normal activities, as there is no downtime needed for this procedure. Patients can have one or several treatment sessions over the course of several weeks and months to see continued results in the treated areas. Most patients find that they can improve their contours in a gradual and natural manner with CoolSculpting rather than traditional plastic surgeries that can leave scars and require extensive downtime and healing.

What results can I achieve with CoolSculpting?

CoolSculpting typically reduces 25 percent of the fat cells in the treated area, and those eliminated fat cells are permanently gone. For the best long-term results, patients should maintain their weight close to the weight they are after their final session.
