How the Daxxify frown line injectable treatment works to reverse the aging process

DAXXIFY Frown Line Treatment in New Orleans LA Area
Today, there is a wide range of anti-aging solutions for patients to consider when looking to reduce the development of wrinkles and folds on the face. This includes reliable and effective solutions that don't require surgical interventions, such as the Daxxify injectable available at the Lupo Center for Aesthetic and General Dermatology. Daxxify is one of many cosmetic injections used by our New Orleans, Louisiana, board certified dermatologist to improve a patient’s appearance and self-confidence.

What is Daxxify?

When you visit the Lupo Center for Aesthetic and General Dermatology, you may want to talk about anti-aging solutions such as Daxxify. Daxxify is a botulinum toxin type A injectable, like Botox, approved by the FDA for treating moderate to severe folds between the eyebrows. Alternatively, it is also an excellent frown line treatment that provides results lasting up to six to eight weeks longer than other neuromodulators. Drs. Mary Lupo and Nina Hartman can educate you on whether or not you are a good candidate for Daxxify injections.

How does Daxxify differ from dermal fillers?

Other injectable treatments on the market, including dermal fillers, are readily available at our office but differ in how they work. Daxxify is designed to minimize the appearance of wrinkles on the face, with injections directly administered into the muscles of the face. This reduces the depth of dynamic wrinkles. However, dermal fillers are formulated with hyaluronic acid and add volume where needed. These do not address wrinkles and folds in the same way as botulinum toxin type A injectables. However, some patients may combine their Daxxify injections with dermal filler injectables to achieve what is sometimes referred to as a "liquid facelift." This can provide noticeable changes in a patient’s appearance that will last several months before reinjection is needed.

Am I a good candidate for Daxxify?

Drs. Mary Lupo and Nina Hartman encourage patients considering Daxxify injectables to start with a consultation appointment at the office to determine if they are a good candidate for this or other cosmetic treatments available. During this initial visit, patients can talk to our team and determine if this treatment can meet their needs.

Do I need to prepare for my Daxxify appointment?

When you request a consultation visit with our team, be sure to come with any questions you may have about treatment. Once deemed an appropriate treatment candidate, you can discuss any medications you should avoid before your injection appointment. Before their injectable appointment, patients will want to consider stopping certain medications, such as blood thinners, allergy medications, or muscle relaxers. Be sure to offer your provider information regarding your medical and health history, as well as any medications and supplements that you take on a regular basis.
