How the Daxxify frown line injectable treatment works to reverse the aging process
By Dr. Mary Lupo
What is Daxxify?
When you visit the Lupo Center for Aesthetic and General Dermatology, you may want to talk about anti-aging solutions such as Daxxify. Daxxify is a botulinum toxin type A injectable, like Botox, approved by the FDA for treating moderate to severe folds between the eyebrows. Alternatively, it is also an excellent frown line treatment that provides results lasting up to six to eight weeks longer than other neuromodulators. Dr. Mary Lupo can educate you on whether or not you are a good candidate for Daxxify injections. How does Daxxify differ from dermal fillers?
Other injectable treatments on the market, including dermal fillers, are readily available at our office but differ in how they work. Daxxify is designed to minimize the appearance of wrinkles on the face, with injections directly administered into the muscles of the face. This reduces the depth of dynamic wrinkles. However, dermal fillers are formulated with hyaluronic acid and add volume where needed. These do not address wrinkles and folds in the same way as botulinum toxin type A injectables. However, some patients may combine their Daxxify injections with dermal filler injectables to achieve what is sometimes referred to as a "liquid facelift." This can provide noticeable changes in a patient’s appearance that will last several months before reinjection is needed.Actual Patient Results
