Thanks to the Diamond Glow treatment, Dr. Lupo can provide patients with a soothing, spa-like treatment that provides effortless skin exfoliation.
Diamond Glow is a microdermabrasion device that uses a fine diamond fraize to slough away unhealthy skin to expose the fresh, youthful appearance underneath it. At the same time, the device infuses serums into the skin to provide exfoliation and rejuvenation. Patients who benefit most from Diamond Glow treatments are those with sun-damaged skin, acne, fine lines, hyperpigmentation, and dry skin. Diamond Glow is also beneficial for improving overall skin tone and texture, while bringing forth glowing, radiant skin!
Dr. Lupo starts patients on the Diamond Glow regimen after scheduling an initial consultation appointment. During this visit, patients can ask any questions they may have about the treatment and learn what they can expect. Dr. Lupo determines how many sessions they may require for the optimum results, and can offer suggestions about home health care in between Diamond Glow treatments.
During the Diamond Glow treatment, patients will be able to sit back and relax in a spa-like setting. The skin is cleaned before the procedure starts. The Diamond Glow treatment device is shaped like a large pen and is held against the skin and moved across slowly. The skin is exfoliated, and a special combination of serums is infused into the skin and vacuumed back into the handheld piece. Most patients are comfortable throughout the treatment, some note minor discomfort from the exfoliation.
Afterwards, the face is moisturizes, and an aftercare regimen is discussed. Patients may experience some slight redness following the treatment, but this goes away after a few hours. Patients are encouraged to minimize sunlight exposure for 48 hours. There is no downtime involved with Diamond Glow treatments, allowing patients to go about their day after their visit to the Lupo Center.

Board-certified dermatologist and clinical professor of dermatology Mary P. Lupo, MD, has been a leader in the field of non-surgical rejuvenation since 1983. She travels internationally to teach her innovative techniques, and her reputation brings in patients from around the country. She started the first formal residency training program for injectables and peels in 1983 at Tulane Medical School and served as past president of the Women’s Dermatologic Society, adjunct professor of dermatology at Tulane, and a founder of Cosmetic Boot Camp. Dr. Lupo holds membership in many prestigious dermatology associations, participates in clinical trials for the approval of new drugs and devices, and acts as an advisor for numerous aesthetic-minded companies.
Dr. Lupo was recently recognized as a trailblazer for women in dermatology and for her dedication to educating dermatology residents and fellows.
