At the Lupo Center for Aesthetic and General Dermatology, we know how important it is to achieve beautiful, healthy looking skin and address common skin concerns. Therefore, we invest in the most advanced technologies to assist men and women in feeling more confident in their own skin! With treatments such as the Fraxel Dual, patients in the New Orleans, LA area can enhance their skin and combat skin disorders.
Fraxel Dual is the gold standard in skin rejuvenation. Dr. Mary Lupo at the Lupo Center for Aesthetic and General Dermatology is pleased to provide Fraxel Dual for patients. This treatment uses special laser light to address many types of skin concerns, which include:
This device emits two types of laser light that helps in stimulating the body’s natural production of collagen to improve the structural supports of the skin and to lighten dark spots and sun damage. At the same time, it can tighten and firm the skin, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, which contribute to aging skin. Some patients also choose Fraxel Dual for overall skin rejuvenation as it can smooth the texture and tone of the skin.

There are advantages to undergoing laser therapy with the Fraxel Dual device.
Fraxel Dual is a procedure done right in our dermatology office. Patients rest in our treatment chair while we cleanse and prepare the skin. Patients can ask for a topical cream that helps numb the skin for improved comfort. The device is used on the area previously discussed. Most patients describe a sensation of heat during their treatment. It is well-tolerated, and many patients love the results!
The after-effects of treatment vary from patient to patient, as well as the level of laser therapy used on the skin. More aggressive treatments may result in redness, peeling, and discomfort for a few days, while there is a reduced chance of side effects with milder, more superficial treatments. Patients are encouraged to discuss with their Board-certified dermatologist if they need to take time off work or other activities that may be affected by their healing skin.

The team at the Lupo Center for Aesthetic and General Dermatology offers a variety of treatments for conditions that patients may experience. We may make other suggestions for patients based on their unique needs, including chemical peels, topical prescription medications, or even cosmetic injectables. During the initial consultation appointment and evaluation, we will assess patients and help them determine what treatment options are available to them and may be best for their specific needs. Suggestions may be made based on the severity of a patient’s skin concerns and patients can help develop a treatment plan that works for them.
