Since 2002 when Botox was first FDA approved, Dr. Mary Lupo has been at the forefront of using neuromodulators, or neuromuscular blocking agents, to relax overactive muscles that cause wrinkles. She has participated in several FDA clinical trials for different uses of neuromodulators, so it was no surprise when the maker of Jeuveau, Evolus, approached her to participate in the FDA approval of their "new tox."As the only practice in Louisiana to participate in Jeuveau’s clinical trial, Dr. Lupo learned first-hand the best practices for this non-surgical wrinkle reducer. She could see how it compared to other neuromodulators such as Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin, and began to figure out how it would work best for her patients and how to use it in a complementary way with other treatments for overall facial rejuvenation.

What is Jeuveau?
Jeuveau is the newest neuromodulator on the market.
Neuromodulation reduces signaling to the muscles from the nerves, in turn reducing movement-induced lines, folds, and wrinkles.
We also use neuromodulators, commonly called Botox products, to lift the eyebrows, reduce the downward pull along the jawline, and lift the mouth's corner.
What problem areas can Jeuveau fix?
Most of our patients who've tried Jeuveau have found that it's a highly effective product.
It helps reduce frown lines, crows feet, or headlines and lift brows and the corners of the mouth.
It also helps improve the jawline by reducing the pull-down of a muscle in the neck that pulls the jawline downward.

During the clinical trial, the injectable neuromodulator Jeuveau went head to head with Botox, and in great news for patients, the results showed a slightly longer duration of effectiveness. While the duration of the results varies depending on several factors, most patients should see results for three to six months. Factors that can affect how long the results last include:- How much muscle mass you have – more muscle means that your body will metabolize the drug more quickly

Jeuveau cost
The cost of Jeuveau is similar to other neuromodulators such as Botox, Xeomin, and Dysport. Your total cost will depend on how many injections you need and how much product is used to achieve the results you are seeking. We will discuss the pricing of the treatment with you in advance of the procedure.Is there pain or downtime?
Patients report little to no pain with Jeuveau treatments. We offer topical numbing prior to the treatment and use very small needles to inject Jeuveau, so the pain you will experience during the procedure is minimized. You may experience some mild discomfort, but most patients say that it feels like a tiny pinch or an acupuncture needle.The side effects of Jeuveau are typically minor, so there is little to no social downtime after your injections. You may experience some minor bruising, swelling or redness at the injection sites, but those typically fade soon after treatment.
