The process of Kybella injections
The entire process begins with an evaluation. During a consultation visit, the doctor will determine if patients are candidates for this service. Once it has been decided that patients want to move forward with treatment, they schedule an appointment for their first treatment. Following the injections, patients are given after-care instructions to follow, and then can speak to our front office team about scheduling their next appointment. How many injections will I require?
This cannot be determined until patients visit Dr. Mary Lupo for a consultation appointment. However, most patients benefit from around four sessions total, depending on how well their body responds to the treatment.What are possible side effects of Kybella?
While Kybella is safe and effective for treating submental fullness, there are some temporary side effects that patients should be aware of. Most of the common side effects that develop include swelling, soreness and numbness in the injection area. These last less than a week or two and are often minor overall. Downtime is short, with many patients able to return to their busy lifestyle the following day after injections. However, there are more serious side effects for patients to consider. These include trouble swallowing, nerve inflammation, and muscle weakness in the facial area. Should any of these more severe side effects occur, patients should visit their healthcare provider as soon as possible for a follow-up.
