Contact dermatitis – Oftentimes, patients make an appointment to see a dermatologist because of a rash or itching that they are experience. Frequently, these conditions develop due an allergic reaction to something they wore, touched, or came in contact with. Dr. Lupo and Dr. Souyoul can evaluate your rash and determine if it is contact dermatitis or another condition, as well as prescribe specific topical creams to ease itching and redness.
Excessive sweating – Known as hyperhidrosis, excessive sweating can be an embarrassing condition to live with. Patients may find that they sweat through their clothes on a daily basis, ruining their wardrobe and causing them to feel self-conscious when around other people. This condition is caused by overactive sweat glands and can be addressed in many different ways by our professionals, such as prescription antiperspirants or creams, medications, or targeted injections.
Hair and nail conditions – Patients who have issues with their nails, such as fungal growth, or who are experiencing thinning hair or hair loss can discuss their condition with our team and we will develop a treatment plan that works for their specific needs. Acne – We see many patients in our practice who are fighting troublesome skin conditions such as acne. There are several types of acne, as well as varying severities, so our team will evaluate the skin, determine what type of acne is present, and help patients find a skin care regimen that works for them. We find that each patient is unique and needs their own customized treatment regime.
Psoriasis – Patients with psoriasis are not only uncomfortable due to itching and redness, but often embarrassed by their condition and find that they cover their body with clothing to avoid being seen. However, with appropriate treatment, this condition can be addressed and symptoms reduced.
Eczema – Chronic rashes that develop on the skin that are not related to contact dermatitis may be diagnosed as eczema. Many different factors can cause patients to experience an eczema flare-up, which can result in itching and redness anywhere on the body. With proper treatment, patients can avoid these flare-ups and enjoy healthier skin, while keeping the condition under control during each season.
