Skin Tightening - Related Questions

Q. I am only 38 years old, but likely from recent weight loss, I now have noticeable jowls. I am too young for a facelift (And no way could I afford one anyway). Is there a needle-less option for me?

A. Yes, there are now reasonably effective ways to tighten the skin that in my opinion, seem to work best in younger patients. I prefer Exilis radiofrequency skin tightening. This devise deep heats the skin several millimeters deep to stimulate collagen that will result in skin tightening. This procedure is safe on all skin colors and types. The pain level is very tolerable. 4-6 sessions each spaced about 2 weeks apart gives the best result. Cost is $300-500 per session depending on where you live.

Q. Does Exilis Work for Neck and Contouring and How Long is Each Session?

A. Yes, This procedure is very good for the neck and have about a 80% satisfaction rate in my practice. Nothing works on every case, but I see consistent results especially in those who do not have severe skin redundancy and who are younger than 60 years old.

Q. I do not want to try Botox. I know that sounds weird as all my friends are doing it and look great, but I just don't want to go down that route. What can I have done to lift my eyebrows and look less tired?

A. Well, you do have options. Dermal fillers injected under the lateral brow can lift the eyebrows. It actually lasts longer than Botox alone and works best if done in ADDITION to Botox. But if you do not want Botox, I am guessing you do not want fillers either. That leaves two other options: surgical brow lift by a facial plastic surgeon (FPS), or ultrasonic/ radiofrequency skin tightening by a dermatologist or FPS. While not as dramatic as surgery, these procedures such as Exilis, Thermage and Ulthera can give a tightening effect and should be discussed as possible alternatives for a brow lift.

The best dermatologist in all of the Louisiana easily. She’s is very knowledgeable and can help you with your skin conditions. Make sure you tell her everything and don’t be shy because she moves fast, and you may forget to tell her something. But all in all I highly suggest her.
