CoolSculpting technology delivers precisely controlled cooling to target the fat cells underneath the skin. The treated fat cells are crystallized (frozen), and then die. In the weeks and months following the procedure, the body naturally processes the fat and eliminates the dead cells forever. Patients may start to see changes as quickly as four weeks after a treatment and will experience the most dramatic results after three months.
Don't delay... registration ends on April 16, 2021. Contact us today to schedule your CoolSculpting assessment: 504-777-3047 or info@drmarylupo.com.

Do You Know About QWO Cellulite Treatment?

Last month we introduced you to QWO (pronounced like "whoa"), the first and only FDA-approved injectable treatment for cellulite in women. And now we are excited to begin treating patients with this breakthrough technology!
Many people think that cellulite is caused from excess fat, a poor diet or lack of exercise. When really it’s none of the above. It’s the genetic makeup of the fibrous bands under the skin, and when these bands have a strong pull on the skin it causes the dimpling appearance that we call cellulite. It is very common, in fact, 9 out of 10 women will have cellulite.
During the treatment, Dr. Lupo injects the product directly into the cellulite dimple with a very tiny needle. The product destroys the bad fibrous bands, and the fat is remodeled under the skin for a smoother appearance. QWO is a quick procedure (as little as 10 minutes) and very tolerable. A full treatment is 3 sessions spaced 21 days apart.
While this is the first treatment of its kind, QWO has been studied in more than 1,800 women. Dr. Lupo was a principal investigator in the FDA clinical trial a few years ago, so she is excited to finally offer this product to her patients!

Rosacea Awareness Month
April is Rosacea Awareness Month, so now is the time to become better educated about the signs and symptoms of this common skin condition affecting more than 16 million Americans. Rosacea is an inflammatory skin condition that may be easily mistaken for acne, eczema or a rash by the untrained eye. There are four subtypes of rosacea: 1. facial redness, 2. bumps and pimples, 3. enlargement of the nose, and 4. eye irritation. Some patients may be affected by more than one subtype. It is important to have a diagnosis by a board certified dermatologist, because without treatment or with incorrect care, rosacea can worsen and leave scarring.
An individualized skin care protocol is needed to treat rosacea. Treatments include oral medication, topical products and/or laser and light therapy. Our Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) and Excel V devices are highly effective and safe treatments for redness and vascular dilatation seen in rosacea that is not improved by topical and oral medications. These devices are also used to improve the skin's texture and tone and reduce the appearance of fine lines. Patients find these procedures to be very tolerable with visible improvement after a series of three to six treatments. There is no downtime after an IPL or Excel V treatment and makeup can be worn immediately after.
If you are bothered by chronic redness, you may have Rosacea. Contact us today to be properly diagnosed and treated: 504-777-3047 or info@drmarylupo.com
