Using Dysport Injections for Forehead Lines and Other Signs of Aging
By Dr. Mary Lupo
What is Dysport, and How Does it Provide Anti-Aging Benefits?
Dysport is an injectable that contains botulinum toxin type A, which works by temporarily relaxing the muscles in the face responsible for wrinkles and fine lines. This provides patients with a more youthful appearance by smoothing out the skin. Dysport is used to treat crow’s feet, forehead lines, and frown lines, as well as to improve the appearance of the jawline.WHAT CAN I EXPECT DURING A DYSPORT SERVICE WITH DR. MARY LUPO AND DR. NINA HARTMAN?
During a Dysport treatment at our New Orleans office, Dr. Mary Lupo or Dr. Nina Hartman will clean your skin and evaluate how your muscles move. The physician will inject small amounts of Dysport into the targeted areas using a very fine needle. The entire treatment typically takes less than 10 minutes. What Can I Expect After a Dysport Treatment?
After your Dysport treatment, you may experience redness, bruising, swelling, or mild tenderness at the injection sites. These side effects are generally mild and typically resolve independently within a few days. You will see results within a few days to a week, usually lasting for three to four months. Avoid rubbing or even massaging the injection sites, as this can cause the Dysport to spread to other muscles and create unwanted side effects.Learn More About Dysport Injections with Dr. Mary Lupo and Her Team

Dysport is another neuromodulator that came after botox. I have some patients in my practice who had felt that dysport works a little bit better for them. Either it kicks in quicker or lasts a little bit longer.
But the major differentiator of dysport is that it has a greater area of diffusion. Greater area of diffusion means that from the spot you inject it, it spreads a little bit more. Now this can be a good thing or a bad thing depending on the patient.
What is the use of Dysport?
The use of Dysport, Botox, Jeuveau and Xeomin, the message should be to patients is that, talk to your physician and make sure that your physician knows and understands the differences between these products.
And they are not using the same one on everyone, that they do individualize the treatment and understand the differences in the neuromodulator so that when they do inject then they going to get the best possible outcome for each individual patient.
