In October 2013, the FDA approved a new hyaluronic acid dermal filler from Allergan called Juvederm Voluma. It is specifically indicated for age-related volume loss of the mid face that causes the skin to sag and creates a tired and gaunt appearance. Like other volumizing fillers, Juvederm Voluma treatments require an advanced injector since the technique is very intricate and an artistic eye is necessary to avoid any complications. Voluma is a cross linked hyaluronic acid that is the first in kind to be approved by the FDA of improvement of the cheek. It is FDA approved as a cheek liter. This is a wonderful new hyaluronic acid that we use in our practice, along the jaw line to give a lift – and it gives a more youthful appearance to the cheek bones, when Voluma is used in conjunction with other devices such as Xceles to lift the brow and define the jaw line and perhaps neuromodulators such as Botox, Dysport or Xeomin, so you can get a face lift like effect without surgery.

You can go in that canine facet, you can do this and kind of give a lifting effect to the nose, and you don’t have to worry about any blood vessel. You can pivot this way and you can do some of that D3 position that gives a little bit of a lift, okay.
Avoid these medications for at least two weeks prior to injections: Aspirin or Ibuprofen, Fish Oil, Vitamin E, “G” supplements (ginko, ginseng, garlic), St. John's Wort and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications like Celebrex, as they may cause thinning of the blood.

Dr. Lupo is absolutely amazing! I saw her for botox and filler before my wedding and now I am a devotee of her work. She is a master at accomplishing a natural looking and beautiful result.
