Intense Pulsed Light (IPL)

"The most popular light treatment because in 3-5 sessions, with no downtime from work or your life, the skin is brightened and lightened. "- Dr. Lupo
Intense Pulsed Light refers to a non-laser, broad band, light treatment using energy in the visible and near-infrared light spectrum. It is best as a treatment for overall photoaging, and is often called photorejuvenation or “Fotofacial”. Dr Lupo was the first physician in Louisiana to use this technology in 1999. IPL is a no-downtime treatment to improve red and brown discolorations and is the most popular light treatment in her center. IPL also improves skin texture, often reducing pore size and fine lines. It is the only effective option to improve redness and flushing from rosacea, as medications do not affect these symptoms. It is not for deeply pigmented skin. Dr Lupo is constantly updating her equipment to deliver the most state of the art lasers and light based therapies. The Lupo center is now using the Ellipse I2PL. See our gallery of results for examples of this technology.
